I have a real passion for people and their potential to live enriched and satisfying lives. I also know that at times we can feel unable to connect with that potential and feel lost and alone. There have been times in my own life when I have felt confused and adrift and having contact and support from an understanding and experienced professional has been very useful to me.
About me
I worked for 18 years as a library assistant and always enjoyed the contact and interaction with the public. This interest led me to train as a person centred counsellor. I was awarded my Diploma in Counselling in 1996 and gained accreditation in 2005. I then worked for a social services department in mental health as a therapeutic groupworker, followed by working in further education as a counsellor to students and staff. I have been in private practice for 14 years working with individuals, couples, groups, businesses and organisations.
I provide a warm, safe and accepting space in which you will feel able to explore your difficulties without feeling judged or pressured. Your concerns are unique to you and the work we undertake together would be explored and agreed in the sessions. We will be working in partnership and going at your pace.
I have regular and ongoing supervision and I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I adhere to their code of ethics and good practice.
My qualifications are:
BACP Accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist 2005

TA 101 certificate
I have also completed training in:
Working with couples
